Biography:

My name is Lagen Schulte and I am a psychologist in Morgan Hill, California. I was born and raised outside of Portland, Oregon. I grew up on a working farm, rising with the roosters each morning to feed the animals before heading off to school. I actively showed horses, cattle, and sheep in my childhood years. My unique childhood experiences and challenges helped build the strong work ethic I have today and affords me quick access to empathy for many of the struggles clients present in therapy.

I first became interested in the field of psychology while volunteering as a camp counselor with troubled youth while in high school. After high school I headed east to New York and attended a small liberal arts school, Union College. I received my degree in Psychology and Spanish. Also, during college I lived in Italy and studied the Italian language and art history while traveling throughout Europe. Next, I completed my M.S. and Ph.D. at the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology in Palo Alto, CA.

In 2007 began working for Kaiser Permanente, specializing in health psychology and perinatal/women’s issues. Here my work has focused on Behavioral Medicine - the integration of behavioral and medical science in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of medical conditions.

I initially came to California to continue my education and to trade the cloudy weather of the pacific northwest for the California sun. While in California I met my husband and as they say - the rest is history. I now make my home in Morgan Hill with my husband and 2 daughters. When not in the role of psychologist I enjoy time with my 4 dogs, playing tennis, camping, reading, baking, and board games with my family.
